Please note this fire pit surround should be either lined with steel or rendered with fireproof cement before use. Internally, it's not recommended for the fire to directly touch the stone. Instead, consider options such as placing a steel insert around the inside edge with adequate air space, using fire bricks in the center for heat control, or lining with fire retardant mortar. Adding a layer of sand and gravel at the bottom of the fire pit is also advised.
